Natalie & Marek

So I am plugging away at all the shoots I was lucky enough to do when I travelled home a couple of weeks ago....but the main reason I went home was to photograph Natalie & Marek's wedding and I am so grateful they let me! I have been pestering this poor girl for years to let me take her wedding photos one day when she met THE one!! But not only did I get to see my family I got to see what a wonderful man she chose to marry and how totally fantastic they are together.

It poured and poured but they were such troupers and I think her hair still looked fantastic when all was said and done! Thanks in part to genes but also thanks to one of my bestest buddies Sarah (you can see her site here, she also did the makeup!)

I've got so many more photos to get through but I couldn't resist a few...well quite a few and more I would like to post will show up later. I am just so jealous someone else will get to do a trash the dress session with them in Ottawa, where the groom hails from!

Thanks so very much for letting me take part in the beginning of your lives together, you were both gorgeous!

Why are the boys always so much goofier? I half jokingly said why don't you roll up your pants and jump in the fountain....and they were soo stoked! lol, actually the girls wanted to get in too...I will post that one later!

Aren't these the cutest cupcakes ever?!?! Why didn't I think of that for my wedding!?

Sealing Session!

So a very wonderful friend of mine asked if I could do a family shoot for her when I came to visit Toronto a couple weeks ago. But this session had a very special significance! Her parents were sealed together in the LDS Toronto Temple and they wanted to document that monumental occasion.  Of course I said yes!

if you are unfamiliar with what being "sealed" means, here is a little itty bitty explanation. When a couple is married in the LDS temple, they are not only married for life but for eternity! Any children they then bring into the marriage will also be "sealed" to them for all eternity. Pretty wonderful thought eh?!? To be together forever with your family....and if you were already married outside of the temple and then become members of the church, you can then perform a simple ceremony in the temple to have that sealing ordinance upon your family.

Anyway, back to pictures!!!

I had a fantastic time and they were so patient with me, I had just stepped off the plane a couple hours earlier and filled my pregnant belly with food before heading right on over.

I sure hope they love these and can cherish the memory and the reminder that they are a forever family!!

Sneak Peek!!

I call this a sneak peek because I have soooo many more images from this shoot I want to put up as soon as I get them all edited. But I really should be working on this one last as this is my niece and nephew and I have lots of other work I need to complete. I just couldn't resist, I love them and these pics too much!!!

They were such troopers and I will elaborate on that when I post some more but I definitely have the mosquito bites to prove it.

If there was ever any doubt that this is my brothers kid (which there wouldn't be because he is his clone minus mommy's eyes.) then this would seal the deal. He is shooing me away with the jedi force.

So the shoes we bought for Sariah ended up not fitting and she had to stand in the dirt which I thought was pretty darn cute but she definitely did not!! We all took our shoes off and made sure we avoided goose poop and she endured the torture with grace!

This is by far my fave outfit of the day and I took sooo many pictures I just couldn't stop! I have no idea how I am gonna choose! Right now she is laughing at my dad giving my brother a noogie! Yes, it was a family affair! I was only visiting for 5 days so they helped me out with all my shoots!

Very last picture of the day!! Can you guess what she is saying?! "Please, please, please am I done?!?!"
